CLEARWATER SPAS
Clearwater Hot Tubs come standard with ozone water treatment, and Backyard Canada adds UVC and ClearBlue Mineralization to all Clearwater hot tubs. One step above these industry leading technologies is the exclusive CLEAR Water Treatment System, which adds a Silver / Copper diode and a magnetic field to the hot tub. This system is so effective that the owners manual requires that you don’t float chlorine in the hot tub like in other hot tubs, and you maintain chlorine as low as 0.5 parts per million, that’s less than drinking water! Most hot tubs require 3-6 parts per million, while tubs with the Clear system are to be kept between 0.5 and 3 parts per million. Backyard Canada is proud to be Clearwater Hot Tubs Calgary and Edmonton dealer. We adhere to a customer first ethos, that means we will help you with all aspects of your Hot Tub installation and maintenance for years to come. With over 40 years of experience, Clearwater Hot Tubs has perfected the hot tub experience, with more pumps for a better jet experience. Plus, all hot tubs are built with our cutting edge EcoSpray Shell that is not only better for environment, but also insulates the hot tub user from the sound of the pumps, making for a quieter more therapeutic experience.

CLEARWATER SPAS HOT TUBS
Clearwater Spas makes the industry's best hot tubs, built for the Canadian climate. Backyard Canada is proud to be Clearwater's exclusive dealer for Calgary, Edmonton and Alberta. Hot tubs in Calgary are the very best way to activate a Canadian backyard in all 4 seasons. A hot tub will get you outside even on Calgary's harshest winter days, and in the summer turn down a refreshing temperature. We carry all of the Clearwater line, but we focus on their premium Northwest, Beachcraft and Resort series, because we believe a hot tub is an investment that should be easy and enjoyable to use, simple and inexpensive to service, and built without compromise.

What makes a Clearwater Spa Different?

First - Better water
Most spa companies top out at Ozone and UVC, but Clearwater goes a few steps further. Our hot tubs have a dedicated recirculation pump, that runs energy efficiently, extends the life of your jet pumps, and means that your water is never stagnant! We also offer an upgrade up to the CLEAR water system that give you the very best water quality available in a hot tub. When the Vikings sailed across the ocean they kept their drinking water fresh with silver and copper coins. Clearwater spas now uses a silver copper diode to purify your hot tub water, along with Ozone and UVC, 100 square feet of filtration, a full time recirculation pump, and it finishes the water treatment cycle with a magnetic field to polarize the water making it soft while also combining particles so they get caught by the filter. This cutting edge water treatment system will reduce your chemical usage by as much as 80%, so you won't smell like chlorine. Drinking water is 1 part per million chlorine, a CLEAR water spa should be 0.5 - 3 parts per million. Instead of putting shock in the tub when you get out, press the CLEAR button to boost the silver cooper diode and sanitize the water, then use chlorinated shock once a week or so. You'll still use shock on occasion, but not nearly as much as with a traditional hot tub. And it will also allow you to extend the time between water exchanges, which with a hot tub in Calgary, could mean the difference between changing water in the middle of winter versus the spring. For the best water quality available in a hot tub, choose Clearwater Spas.

Second - Quiet hot tub operation
Clearwater hot tubs have an EcoSpray shell that's excellent at absorbing the sound of the pumps, and creating one of the only spas on the market that allows you to run the jets and still have a conversation. Most shells in the hot tub industry are reinforced by ozone depleting fibreglass, which is strong, but has very limited sound absorption properties. Clearwater uses a proprietary EcoSpray shell, that is environmentally friendly, and also sound absorbing. The means when you have all the pumps running on your Clearwater hot tub, you'll still be able to have a normal conversation.

Third - Designed by experts for comfort
A Clearwater shell has been refined over decades for comfort, and full body therapeutic massage. With vertical loungers that massage your legs, to over the shoulder jets and armrests that release tension, you'll enjoy your hot tub's thoughtful design every time you get in. Clearwater also adds more jets and more pumps than almost anything other hot tub on the market. So your hot tub will always have enough power to ensure your enjoyment, and if you want a softer massage, air valves and diverters are there to lighten the pressure.

Hot Tubs Calgary - FAQs

How much does a hot tub cost?

The cost of a hot tub will depend on the size and features, but you can expect a hot tub for two people to cost around $9,000 to $12,000. A hot tub for four or more people is will range from $11,000-$14.000 and an eight-person hot tub will set you back around $13,000 to $22,000.

Are hot tubs good for you?

Hot tubs have many benefits to offer. Some of these benefits include: feeling more relaxed and less stressed, improving your sleep quality, strengthening your immune system, and improving muscle soreness. Hot water therapy is also an amazing way to release tension as the buoyancy of the water releases pressure on your spine and your joints.

How long does it take the hot tub to heat up?

The time it takes for a hot tub to heat up depends on the temperature of your water when you get into the tub and the size and condition of your hot tub. The general rule of thumb is that it takes between 10 and 15 hours for a hot tub to heat up. As a general rule of thumb, you’re best to leave the hot tub always set at your desired temperature, as heating time can be quite long. However, many hot tubs have programs available that allow the water temperature to drop during certain times, in order to save energy.

How much does a hot tub weigh?

A hot tub is heavy and can weigh anywhere from 600-1,200 lbs empty, but over 5,000 lbs when full of water. It is important to take this into account when installing the hot tub and make sure you have a strong, sturdy foundation. In addition, make sure the floor you are installing it on can support the weight of a hot tub.

How much space will I need for my hot tub?

This depends on the hot tub you select. The most common hot tub size is 8 feet x 8 feet. But there are many options at 7 feet x 7 feet, and then a variety of smaller sizes available also. We often recommend that you select a larger tub if you have the space and even occasionally plan to have more than 3 people in the tub. This extra spa will add to everyone’s enjoyment of the tub!

What size Hot Tub is right for me?

When it comes to hot tubs, bigger is often better. The most common hot tub size is 8 feet x 8 feet. Though many people choose smaller footprints to fit the space in their yard, or because they only ever plan to use the tub with one other person or alone. We offer all varieties of hot tub sizes, so we will certainly have a great option available for you. If you plan on using the hot tub as a family, then 8 ft x 7 ft will be best suited for you.

How Do Hot Tubs Keep The Water Clean?

There are a few different ways that hot tubs keep the water clean and sanitary. First, most hot tubs filter the water with a mechanical pleated filter before it goes into the unit. Second, many modern hot tubs have ultraviolet (UVC) and Ozone water treatment systems. These are considered active sanitizers, as they are actively killing contaminents in the water. Third, some hot tubs use a mineralization system that creates an environment that algae and bacteria don’t readily grow in, which means you can actually reduce the amount of chlorine in the water from 3 to 6 parts per million to as low as 0.5 to 1 part per million.

How Often Should I Change The Water In a Hot Tub?

The water in your hot tub should be changed approximately every six months. We often recommend doing this in the spring and the fall, to avoid any freezing problems. Most cities have by-laws that require you to put the water down the municipal water drain. However, properly balanced water with a chlorine content below 3 parts per million should be safe for your grass. Additionally we recommend purchasing a 1/4 horsepower submersible pump to empty your tub. It will take approximately 40 minutes to drain most hot tubs this way, compared to several hours with the drain that the hot tub comes equipped with.

How Often Should I Clean My Filter?

It is a good idea to always have an extra filter on hand so that you can easily change the filter when it becomes dirty. You should rinse your filters every 30 days. Every 60 days you should submerge the filters in filter cleaner overnight to release any biofilms and to deep clean your filter.
